Job Position: Software Engineer

Job Responsibility:

Ensuring the well-being of the overall operating environments supporting ad hoc and batch processes related to InvestOne, as scheduled via one of several scheduling products like Autosys,Dell Clarity, MQ, FTP

  • Troubleshooting application, communication, and system errors as needed to guarantee application availability
  • Working with the Customer Service teams or directly with clients to resolve operational or technical issues
  • Testing operational components of application during periodic software and hardware upgrades
  • Creating and maintaining shell scripts, procedures and functions
  • After sufficient training, periodic assignments assuming on-call support of overnight batch processing and debugging/correcting any issues that may arise
  • Demonstrating continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline workflows, and work cooperatively and jointly with internal personnel to provide quality customer service

Monitor, Track and Report on all job abends/errors_Application Maintenance

o   Monitor Engine application performance

o   Interface with software vendors to get resolution to questions or issues regarding the Unikix software, or to request enhancements to UniKix software functionality

o   Work with Systems Engineering to ensure that Engine software platforms are successfully supporting the operation of the software

Change Management
o   Attend regularly-scheduled change management meetings on an as-needed basis to discuss any Engine change requirements

Projects & Other Assigned Tasks
o   Work on assigned projects/tasks

  •       Appropriately escalate any error/issue that progresses beyond second-level support
  •       Own and drive high severity incidents by coordinating with technical, client services and professional services team
  •       Participate in disaster recovery and maintenance activities
  •       Take automation improvement initiatives to reduce manual tasks improving efficiencies
Required Skills:
  • Hands on experience in supporting enterprise Unix and Cobol based financial application environment
  • Exposure to Unix shell scripting
  • Exposure with financial domain enterprises is preferable
  • Ability to work in ITIL based process based support environment
  • Motivated self-starter; can work with minimal supervision
  • High energy team player
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and service-oriented environment
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
